There are very few things that I’ll willingly wake up before 8AM for. A bus trip to New York City is one of them.
We left school at 8AM Saturday morning, arriving in NYC around 11:30. Luckily we all were prepared with hats and gloves. Our trip started in Times Square where Rachel was extremely disappointed in the New Years Eve ball. In Times Square, we stopped in Chocolate World (even though we go to school down the street from Hershey) and M&M’s World.
After Times Square, we took the subway to Union Square to shop at the Christmas market. The goal was to find Christmas presents for people, but I ended up just buying a scarf for myself. After shopping, we walked to Pommes Frites for lunch, stopping to watch street performers along the way. The fries at Pommes Frites were amazing. We tried three of the sauces (that I can’t remember the name of but they were all really good).
In order to get in the holiday spirit, we ventured to the Rockefeller Center to see the tree and lights. It was pretty, but there were A LOT of people there.
Our next stop was Central Park. It was getting dark (and cold) so we didn’t stay too long. It was really cool to see the city from the park. After Central Park, we headed to Tim Horton’s. While it was nothing compared to the Tim Horton’s in Canada, it was still exciting to eat Timbits in the US.
I’m writing this a few weeks after the day we went so I may have forgotten stuff, but oh well.
